Sunday Drive along the Texas Gulf Coast

An early morning outing to Sea Rim State Park yielded more than just a few good photos. This quiet, off the beaten path, park is perfect if you like to commune with nature on a personal level.

This is where the beach meets the marsh. There is a great boardwalk through the marsh. Just beware of unexpected natives sharing your path.

A good section of the Gulf coast is not accessible by car. We picked up Hwy 89 south of Winnie and followed it along the coast to Port Bolivar where we crossed over to Galveston via ferry.

We made it to Galveston in time for lunch at the Gumbo Bar. I recommend the gumbo.

Looking forward to going back to Galveston and getting more photos of the beautiful architecture and statues in the city.
